TEDx Amsterdam 2010 – blogger

I’m a proud member of the TEDx team. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At our TEDxAmsterdam event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will be combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

citizenM – strategy, content & copywriting

One of a kind hotel citizenM lauched it’s own online magazine. I was asked to think along with design agency Formlab about the positioning, the content and I wrote the text in citizenM witty tone of voice.

KNVB identity strategy & copy

Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) is always expanding their field of soccer. The Football Association was looking for a strong (new) vision on their women’s football and referee section. I also wrote the two brochures.










Introduction T-Mobile Flex – consultancy (3 months)

T-Mobile launched their new service: T-Mobile Flex. I was partly responsible to get the right message across: online, in the shop, through customer service, via POS material and on the street. I was consultant for three months.

Loesje ‘copywriting’ / NL

From 2002 – 2007 I was one of the Loesjes in Amsterdam, the girl who spreads positive criticism, philosophical ponderings and thoughts on current events by way of short slogans on posters. We made a book out of it (the Amsterdam ‘red version’, since all the other books are white).

Travelling through life is a fascinating performance. Each day is part of an unfinished story. And each personal decision is interlinked with the past and future. According to photographer Tessa Posthuma de Boer (1968) life contains unmistakably a mixture of desire, distress and human imperfection. She has developed a intimate narrative style to capture this lifelong theme.

Although she aims the camera to herself, it could have been everybody. Tessa is a chameleon of affections. Therefore her work is obviously staged but it’s never getting theatrical. The massive tension in her look express an entire life in one moment. She does not portray tragedy, but her images definitely have melancholic depth and leave enough room for interpretation.

Agency: NOISE (concept)
Description: Sending a text message means getting a present from Santa Claus, letting it snow and make a gospel choir sing. This lively square was built in several cities. Various forms created the whole story: banners/ reply-sms / interactive message board / posters.


The Baleen Boat / identity strategy & copywriting / UK

Designer Seroj de Graaf (Chocolate & Foam) is taking the concept ‘boat’ to another level in terms of material, making process and sustainability. He needed a focus on identity and text for a corporate brochure.

The boat reinterpreted
The Baleen Boat is a floating solution for the mobile generation who’d like to explore the city, nature and more whenever they like it. A boat that’s reasonably priced, lightweight, quickly to use, easy to maintain, easily becoming part of everyone’s ‘daily comfort’. The larger concept however is about creating a leisure product that’s ‘cradle to cradle’, eco-friendly, minimizing materials, creating an optimised production line and being innovative with new materials and technologies.

Description: A fine diary filled with rhythm translated in pictures, graphics and music notations. All texts were about musicians who influenced music history. As editor, I wrote some extra texts.
