<p>For some reason, when you can’t describe an idea, it doesn’t exist. It’s comprised of some ‘thoughts’, visual metaphors and ‘what if…’, but it’s not an idea.</p>
<p>This is where a ‘verbalizer’ comes in. To find the right words to 1) describe it strategically 2) to get the idea across creatively.</p>
<p>Because in a way, ideas exist in two forms:<br />
The ideas in our head, and the ideas we have to get across.<br />
Between the two stands ‘verbalizing’</p>
<p>Language helps, because it <em>defines</em>. It defines a problem, a brief, creative arguments, a political problem, a new statement, who we are.</p>
<p><strong>Call The New Verbalizers a new movement, an idea lab or a growing network, it’s initiated for the love of language and ideas. We think language is a powerful tool to formulate any ideas in any branche.</strong></p>
<p>This is our personal point of view and we would like to investigate it, twist it, turn it upside down, make it, smell it, show it, move it, spread it.</p>
<p>So we can contribute to making ideas more valuable.</p>
<p>My new initiative: The New Verbalizers.</p>

<p>Yeah! I won the (Un)limited Design Contest, a project by Premsela, Waag Society and Fablab. The contest is divided into three categories: Form, Food and Fashion. My category was <a href="http://www.unlimiteddesigncontest.nl/nl/node/121"><strong>fooooood</strong></a>. Hereby my description in Dutch:</p>
<p>Vijf smaken op één bord, te serveren als amuse. Hierbij komen alle smaakpapillen aan de beurt: zuur, bitter, **umami, zout en zoet.</p>
<p><b>Idee achter het bord</b><br />
1) Het verbinden van taal en eten. Je eet daadwerkelijk &#8216;zoet&#8217;, &#8216;zuur&#8217; enz.<br />
2) Je te laten doordringen van de smaken door ze apart te serveren. Bij de opvolgende gangen zul je meer met smaken en ingrediënten bezig zijn, en ze beter proeven. Ook zul je bewuster smaken gaan combineren, Zuur met zoet bijvoorbeeld, wat voor effect heeft dat?<br />
3) Het creëeren van een bescheiden verrassingseffect. In eerste instantie krijg je &#8216;vijf vakjes met eten&#8217;. Na de eerste happen zie je pas de woorden.<br />
4) Een klein slot-effect: na het eten kun je bij een aantal vakjes het woord goed lezen, omdat er eten in gekomen. (in dit geval de sojasaus bij Umami)</p>

<p>Ingrediënten voor de Amuse Vijf:<br />
Zuur: sla met kappertjes, aangemaakt voor wijnazijn<br />
Bitter: walnoten met olijven<br />
Umami: rijpe cherry tomaatjes, besprenkeld met parmezaanse kaas en sojasaus<br />
Zout: ansjovis en zeekraal<br />
Zoet: stukjes dadelbrood met amandelen</p>
<p>** Umami is de vijfde smaak, ontdekt in Japan. Umami betekent &#8216;heerlijkheid&#8217; of &#8216;hartig&#8217; in het Japans (&#8216;umai&#8217; = lekker). Deze smaak verhoogt de speekselafscheiding en versterkt de hartig zoute en zoete smaken. Ingrediënten die de umami smaak veroorzaken zijn o.a. Parmezaanse kaas, tomaten (hoe rijper des te meer umami) en erwten.</p>

<p>Travelling through life is a fascinating performance. Each day is part of an unfinished story. And each personal decision is interlinked with the past and future. According to photographer Tessa Posthuma de Boer (1968) life contains unmistakably a mixture of desire, distress and human imperfection. She has developed a intimate narrative style to capture this lifelong theme.</p>

<p>Although she aims the camera to herself, it could have been everybody. Tessa is a chameleon of affections. Therefore her work is obviously staged but it&#8217;s never getting theatrical. The massive tension in her look express an entire life in one moment. She does not portray tragedy, but her images definitely have melancholic depth and leave enough room for interpretation.</p>

A boat that&#8217;s reasonably priced, lightweight, quickly to use, easy to maintain, easily becoming part of everyone&#8217;s &#8216;daily comfort&#8217;. The larger concept however is about creating a leisure product that&#8217;s &#8216;cradle to cradle&#8217;, eco-friendly, minimizing materials, creating an optimised production line and being innovative with new materials and technologies.<br />
